Wardie

AHOY!
Rather than give you some crap diatribe that no-one will ever read, here’s some bite size tidbits about yours truly:

Name? Dave Ward (Wardie)
Age? 33
Where did you grow up? Waihi Beach for sure. Went to high school at Rosmini College on the North Shore, but the Bay of Plenty is home.
Partner? Kids? Yep, married (well near enough) to Noni and we have our first bub due in November
Work history? I’m a bit of an industry slut really. Commercial shipping first, which took me around the Pacific and is where I got into diving. Noni and I were running a dive shop on the Great Barrier Reef until bop fm recruited me in May ‘09. Been part of the furniture since.
What’s the best thing about working at bop fm? Del coming to work in short skirts.
What’s the worst thing about working at bop fm? Brent coming to work in short skirts.
What’s the dumbest thing you have ever done? Swimming across Darling Harbour one boozy night 12 hours before a shark warning came out would be up there…
Favourite bands? I’m all over the shop really – Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Paul van Dyk, Andrea Bocelli, Queen, but right now I’m into Parov Stelar, Tahuna Breaks, Ben Merito and anything with that familiar kiwi ‘roots’ sound to it.
What do you drive? What do you think it says about you? I drive one of our bop cars. Its a VW golf so it probably says “Dave can’t afford his own car” or “Dave driving a small car means he doesn’t need to compensate for anything”. Probably the first one.
What do you do to wind down? Watch stuff I’ve recorded on Mysky. I’m a dive master too so getting wet is always my ultimate way to joe out.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? Nil carborundum desparadum illigitimus
What’s your favourite sport on telly? Rugby. In fairness though I’d watch any sport. I love cricket, league, netball and Noni’s even caught me getting into darts.
Which Provincial team do you support? Harbour. Obviously keep an eye on the Mighty Steamers too though!
Do you play any sports? Started playing rugby when I was 5 and made the exulted heights of North Harbour age grade sides. I’m still contemplating that grand finale season, but now-a-days I’m all over diving (SCUBA not springboard) and regularly get my arse handed to me on the squash court.
Favourite beer/beverage? Guinness probably. I was the first person in NZ to be on the 100 pint club at The Bog in both Christchurch AND Dunedin. I’m really not all that fussy. It’s amazing what you’ll drink if it’s free.
Favourite fast food? I love all sorts but I struggle to go past Burger Fuel. Hells Pizza is tough to beat too.
Any parting words of wisdom? ‘Do’ or ‘do not’ – there is no ‘Try’. Also, Plato said “Do something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. Smart bastard that Plato…

JP

JP
JP, (Voted Runner up “NZ’s best up and coming DJ”) is like an onion, no not that he makes the masses cry and jump around screaming, but that he has layers! He’s been in and around the Tauranga clubbing scene for over 13 years now and is inspired all things music! You have probably heard him playing at Loop at The Buddha Lounge and Play at De Bier Haus, his local residencies.

Now you can listen to him every Monday to Friday 11 – 2 on Club Sandwich, playing mixing live to get you though your lunch break, as well as every Tuesday night on his show Game Ova playing the latest club tunes from all over the globe and interviewing NZ’s & the worlds top DJ’s!

DONT MISS IT!

Delwyn

What can I say? I’m 23, young, free and often single,
I started radio in Mount Ruapehu, had so much fun and learnt to snowboard while doing it.
Summer rocked round and Tauranga was my next stop.
I love to party, music and people are my passion and radio just happened.
Could say im a lil bit of a tom boy! Im definitely not scared to jump on a bike; motorsport and boxing are my favourite sports.
I was born into the most dysfunctional, functioning family on the planet, which gave me my open mind, I just love to giggle.
My life’s mission is to meet as many people as possible, so if you see me out… come over and say hi…

Hi-Tea
As a former lingerie and swimsuit model from France, I have become role model for men all around the world with hairy chests.
After a freak modelling shoot accident which left me unable to pose in front of the camera ever again I searched for other ways to showcase my unmatchable beauty and talents. This left only one option in which I was still able to express my beauty and signature style. Radio has become my new runway…
